About

b. 1986, HK.

Greetings, I am Nolan, a seasoned UI designer and games researcher. My journey began as a Certification Tester at BrickRed Systems working the Xbox Games store, and I have since channeled my hardware proficiency and research-oriented mindset into my past role at KForce working for 343 Industries and now as a Quality Assurance Technician at Stryker.

My specialization in UI design and level design was cultivated during my tenure as a game design student at DigiPen Institute of Technology. From an early age, my passion for crafting immersive worlds and designing captivating experiences has been a driving force in my life. Influenced by my father, an architect, I imbibed a visual mindset that transcended mere architectural details, delving into the profound intentions behind each design decision.

My formative years, marked by my involvement in music as a band member and later in gymnastics, instilled in me an appreciation for performance and the inherent demands of public spectacle. The discipline and resilience cultivated during these pursuits have become the bedrock upon which I build my professional and personal endeavors.

High school served as a pivotal period when my perception of games evolved beyond mere escapism. Recognizing the profound impact of the human mind in crafting virtual worlds, I resolved to contribute to this transformative process. In my sophomore year, I delved into game development, mastering tools such as the Hammer Editor for Team Fortress 2 and working with Unity and Unreal Engine. This creative journey has spanned over eight years, during which I have ceaselessly crafted and contributed to the gaming landscape.
